I don’t own the rights to this autobiography emerged from personal experiences and communal conversations surrounding the shifts between public identity, private isolation, and self sustaining advocacy amidst the backdrop of chronic illness and grief. Influenced by her work as a massage therapist, Brit seeks to understand the plasticity of our physical vessel and the human spirit. She is curious about the lingering imprint of loss on our long-term anatomical makeup, and the physical manipulation that must occur to reorganize. The work journey’s through the process of recognizing, losing, and reframing one’s own mirrored image. The words, sounds, and images in the work are tangible manifestations of internal sensation, and a tethering to the natural world through eco-poetics.
